What Will The New Year Bring?

I can't believe that a whole new decade is upon us. 2020!

I remember when I was a kid and thought about the year 2000 and how I would be 32 that year, and it seemed so old. 2000 was like some sort of magical number, a new century. And, as it got closer we had the whole Y2K thing, and everyone was so freaked out about what would happen to our computers and I worked for a large corporation at the time and was one of the ones tasked with staying up all night to report any issues that may or may not happen because we were all so concerned that we wouldn't have our beloved computers come January 1, 2000.  Maybe the world would come to an end, we had no idea.

In hind-site it all seems so ridiculous now. Of course nothing happened, the world went on, computers went on and life as we knew it went on.

Now here we are on the precipice of 2020, and we have no concerns about our computers blowing up. But, we do have concerns about our political climate, about the issues in the world that seem out of control. We are bombarded by news, and fear and, and stress 24/7 now.

So, what can we do about this? Well first of all we need to look after ourselves. We need to make sure we are doing what is needed to lower our own stress to take good care of our health so that we can in turn look after those who need us.

We've all heard the analogy of putting on your own air mask on a plane before you help someone else. Because if you pass out you will be no help to anyone else.  So how do we put on our own air mask these days?

Take time for yourself, take care of your health, pursue a hobby, play an instrument, read, write, bake, garden, do whatever you need to take some time for you doing something that you enjoy.

I am creative every day, it is a part of who I am and I have learned that I need that creativity to be happy. Some days I am creating a course or other content. Sometimes I am interviewing amazing people for my podcast, some days I am crocheting and curled up on the couch with my love, sometimes I even throw in some baking or trying new recipes. I am always creating in some way.

My most recent creativity involves putting the finishing touches on a Creativity Journal I have created for myself and for you too. A journal for us to write in, make plans, doodle, colour and track our day to day creativity. I am so excited about it, I have been looking for something like this for so long and couldn't find it so I finally decided to make it myself. And I thought if I wanted something like this chances are others would too.

Keep an eye open for the soon to be released Creativity Journal. A .pdf version will come first and then a hard copy printed version will be released early next year.

2020 is my year to grow and shine without fear, with gratitude in my heart and giving thanks to all those who follow me and share with me and allow me to share with them. You are one of those people and I am so grateful for you.

What is 2020 for you?

Looking forward to this new decade ahead.

Have an Amazingly Creative Day,
Larissa
