#100DAYPROJECT Starts Today
I love taking part in creativity projects. I always encourage people to be creative whenever they can, and challenges are a great way to connect to others who are creating and keep us on track to help build habits. Plus you can get some really amazing ideas from others who are participating.
My 100 day goal is to create a video a day. I have my website and social media accounts, I also have a not for profit and my personal account. Plus making video for courses, so I feel that this is a really good fit for me right now.
My last day of a video course/challenge I am taking with Niamh Arthur (I highly recommend her) ends today, so it is perfect timing for me to do this challenge.
I have struggled a lot with being on camera, I think I have spoken of this before. I was told growing up that I was not photogenic, I was told that we didn't purchase family photos because of me in the photos. So I have spent my whole life avoiding photos, and there are not a lot of me.
Usually if a photo was taken of me, it was under duress and I never knew how to smile for them. In the last year or so my partner has really been pushing me to take photos and will video tape me doing different things, to the point I was starting to be somewhat ok with it. I didn’t like it, but I knew it was going to happen, so I just let it.
Recently with starting to create courses online I had to be on video and I did it but really struggled with it. When I found Niamh’s course ‘Ignite Video Challenge’ I signed up right away. It is 17 days of tips and prompts, so you slowly learn what you need and you do a first take video every day and post it to your safe group where everyone is in the same boat and you become very comfortable at it. By the second week I wasn’t freaking out anymore, I was being more myself, I wasn’t putting on a ton of makeup that I don't usually wear, that I thought I needed to be ready for the camera.
So now I want to continue on that empowering journey of creating more videos and become more and more comfortable with it. So, that being said… be prepared to see more of me. Lol
So, what is #100 day project?
#The100DayProject is a free art project that takes place online. Every spring, thousands of people all around the world commit to 100 days of exploring their creativity.
Anyone can join (yes, that means you!). The idea is simple: choose a project, do it every day for 100 days, and share your process on Instagram with the hashtag #The100DayProject.

Some of the fun and exciting ideas I have seen listed so far are 100 days of drawing, 100 days of ATC cards (Artist Trading Cards), 100 days of learning the Ukulele, 100 days of crocheting, 100 days of photos, of reasons I love my town, of .gifs, of poetry, of sketches, and so much more. So many really creative ideas.
I will be posting my progress on IG, but not all my videos there. Many people have said the same, they may not post every day, but will post their progress.
