Wow, we made it through 2020… I have to say as horrible as it was to lose friends to covid, and know so many people died due to it, plus so many have lost their jobs, it was still a great year in so many ways. I published 2 journals, 2 ebooks, 1 international bestselling anthology, created numerous courses, and helped many women step into their most authentic lives, plus hosted a summit and a retreat and was a guest on many as well. I also have increased my listeners on my podcast and been a guest on other podcasts. I got engaged, even though the wedding has been postponed to later this year. I started creating in an art journal which was a practice I had lost long ago. I truly got over my phobia of creating video and having my picture taken. I have met some amazing people. We are eating much healthier, cooking much more at home. All in all it was a good year.
I did not get to spend nearly enough time with family or friends, but am grateful that the majority made it though relatively unscathed.
When we focus more on the negative, it brings more negative to us. It is all we can see. When we turn it around to see the positives it allows us to see more positives. In December in my Morning Calm program we were wrapping up the year with the journal prompts I provide and one of the questions I asked was to reflect on the positives of the last year, and every woman in that program said they had more positives than negatives happen to them.
Yes, life was restrictive and we didn’t see enough of family and friends, but we also got to slow down, reconnect with many people we had lost touch with. Get to know ourselves better and examine our lives and what we really could give up (if we wanted to) and what is really important to us.
This gave us a time of self reflection, a time to expand our personal growth.
I recently found this list of 50 Questions to Ask yourself for personal growth from Maddie Blank of Michigan State University. And I thought I would answer them and share my answers.
So, this week on my podcast, I will be answering the first 25 of these 50 questions and then next week I will answer the other 25. (The Creative Soul Healing Podcast Jan 6 & 13, 2021)
I encourage you to take a look at the list, they are a great starter to explore your thoughts about things. Pull out your journal and spend some time answering the 50 questions. (Download the list here Questions Only or Worksheet)
Listen to or watch the podcast and then comment with your thoughts on the questions and what you may have learned about yourself.
Have an Amazingly Creative Day,
Larissa
