Hey there, fellow wanderers of the wild and unpredictable adulting realm! Today I’d like to take you on a little journey that explores the untamed wilderness of the proverbial life crisis.
I know, I know, I feel like I can already hear you saying, “Oh no, this sounds like it’ll be really depressing.” But, stick with me here, because I would like to offer the perspective that going through my own life crisis was actually one of the best things that ever happened to me. Sure, it can be kind of terrifyingly depressing at first (I’m not one who is going to flat-out lie to you), but I also think that it can end up being a much-needed kick in the pants in life if you open yourself up to receive its bigger message. Much like anything else, though, it’s all about your perspective and what you choose to do with the experience. So, I’d like to take this opportunity to share my hot take on it and provide some new, fresh...
I just want to share a little about this past week and how I have been feeling.
I am not usually one to open up about how I am "feeling", I give space to others to share their feelings, and I may share the occasional thing I am struggling with, like my health, but I don't typically share my feelings.
I don't know if it is because I am feeling bone-weary tired (low iron again), if it is because I am speaking to Spirit on a regular basis, or if it is because I feel more comfortable in what I do. Or maybe it is a combination of all of that, and more. But, I do know I am feeling the need to share how I am feeling.
This past week we released Transcendence: Art & Spirituality Summit, I could feel all the passion of this summit. I was so excited about it. It turned out amazing. Now, don't get me wrong, I have loved all my summits for different reasons, but this one really felt like 'home' to me.
Authenticity is to be true to one’s personality and character. It means you’re willing to show the world who you really are. You’re willing to live the life that you were meant to live. Authenticity is the ability to show your uniqueness to the world.
There are very few authentic people in the world, but you know them when you see them.
We’re naturally drawn to authentic people. We feel comfortable with those that are willing to be themselves.
Use these strategies to live a more authentic life and show the world the real you:
1. Know your values. What’s important to you? Make a list of every quality you think is important for a person to have. Now, put that list in order. What are your five top values? When you know your values, the authentic choice in any situation is more obvious than when you don’t know your values.
2. Stop doing things you don’t want to do. You still need to pay your bills and take out the trash. However, you don’t...
Authenticity, what does that even mean?
We are often told to be our authentic self, but when we twist and contort ourselves to fit into the world do we even know who we are at the core?
I thought this (Above pic) was the perfect graphic for this post as it has a huge list of potential possibilities.
Maybe these speak to you and maybe you have others for yourself.
To me, being authentic is stepping into our own happiness, having self value and presenting our happiest self to the world and not giving a sh*t if others don't like it.
Maybe it's taking a course you always wanted but were afraid others would think it was ridiculous. Or quitting your job and following your passion. It's about following your own rules and being OK with that.
It can be a really hard thing to do as we are so conditioned in our society to be, do, behave, like the "norm", which in our society is extremely...
